From an early age, I was fascinated by technology and science, so engineering studies really were my cup of tea. After my studies I was looking for a challenge that also has a real impact on our world, the Solar Team was perfect. With twenty motivated team members we push the current technology to its limits, to win in Australia, but also because of the benefits this will eventually bring to our society.
As structural/composite engineers, Olivier and I design a lightweight yet rigid and reliable structure, which acts as a foundation for the other components of the car. As head of mechanical engineering, I facilitate a smooth collaboration between the aerodynamic, composites and mechanical systems engineers, so we can build the fastest and most efficient solar car yet! It will be a fantastic 15 months, full of challenges, innovation and friendship!
