Ready to defend our world title in 2025?

Will you be obtaining your bachelor's degree in engineering technology, business engineering or (bio-) engineering sciences this year? Or are you finishing your master's degree and would you like to follow an interesting postgraduate degree? Then read on!

The Solar Team is looking for motivated students who want to be part of the new team. We are looking for passionate students who want to design and build the 11th solar car. With this brand new solar car, you will compete against universities from all over the world at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia in 2025 as defending champs. Would you like to bring challenging projects to a successful conclusion together with a group of fellow students? Then definitely apply for a role in the next team!

The various open vacancies you can apply for can be found here. We are looking for suitable candidates within the Energy, Mechanical, and Marketing departments.

How can I apply?

If you want to apply, you send your resumé and motivation letter to This motivation letter covers the project as a whole but also includes a paragraph specific to the postgraduate degree the project is part of. Please do not forget to mention for which vacancy/vacancies you like to apply!

Following deadlines apply:

  • First deadline: Friday, March 8 12h00
    If you apply before this deadline, you are guaranteed enough time to prepare for your different interviews.
  • Second deadline: Tuesday, April 2 12h00
    There will be less time to prepare for the different interviews.

After you have applied, two interviews will follow. The first interview is to assess your motivation. During the second interview, we will delve deeper into your technical knowledge regarding the positions you have applied for through the use of a case study.


You can register for this project in the last year of your bachelor's degree or during your master's degree in engineering technology, engineering science, bio-engineering or business engineering. Possession of a bachelor's degree is required to start the postgraduate program, and therefore also to be part of the Solar Team.

You have to be creative and have an out-of-the-box mentality, but also be a real team player. Having practical insight and technical knowledge is a valuable asset. Be sure to mention relevant skills and experiences in your motivation letter!


The Innoptus Solar Team is part of the postgraduate Tech Innovations in Ventures and Teams. The postgraduate Tech Innovations in Ventures and Teams is a postgraduate that gives you the opportunity to gain unique experience in business or entrepreneurship while working on an innovative team project. The program consists of a minimum of 56 credits, with 44 credits for the team project and a minimum of 12 credits for a personal training program. In order to join the Solar Team, you will be have to enroll and be admitted to this programme.

Info sessions

We'd like to invite you to one of our info sessions and have a chat with us if you're planning to apply. Attend one of our walk-in events or job fair booths to ask any questions you may have and get more information about the team & the recruitment process at a moment that suits you best. We recommend attending one of our info nights where you'll get a detailed presentation about the recruitment process, the vacancies and life at the Solar Team, and afterwards some complimentary drinks and a chance to chat with Solar Team alumni.
